Do you know the Dresden Elbe valley yet? Radebeul sits in one of Germany's smallest and northernmost wine-growing regions, with pretty villas at the foot of the vineyards, the historic village green of Altkötzschenbroda, and Schloss Wackerbarth right nearby.
Leave the car in our locked courtyard and set off by tram or train, both a short walk away, for day trips to Dresden, Meißen, Pirna or Saxon Switzerland. A holiday off the road, and climate-friendly too.
A warm welcome from the Holfert familyYour hosts
Leave the car outside and let the tram and suburban train do the rest. Line 4 reaches Dresden's old town in about 20 minutes, the S1 takes 15 to 22 minutes from Radebeul Ost to the main station and on to Pirna or Saxon Switzerland, and in the other direction it runs via Coswig to Meißen. No hunting for parking, no second car for the day trip.
Radebeul lies in one of the north-easternmost wine-growing regions in Europe, between the terraced vineyards of the Lößnitz and the Elbe. The Hoflößnitz estate has grown wine here since 1401 and is now Saxony's first certified organic winery; Schloss Wackerbarth presses its own sparkling wine right on the slope. In autumn, small seasonal wine taverns called "Besen" open just for the harvest.
Radebeul and Dresden's old town sit 10 to 12 kilometres apart, depending on which district you start from. You still stay outside city-centre prices, with more space for the same money and a quieter place to come home to in the evening.
Your own kitchen, garden or terrace, separate bedrooms. For a family or a group of four to six, that usually works out cheaper than two or three hotel rooms, and in the evening you just cook instead of searching for a restaurant.
In September, Altkötzschenbroda hosts its Autumn and Wine Festival, running 17–19 September 2027, with winegrowers, stalls and live music in the historic village core. In May and June, when the vines start to bud, it's much quieter and prices are lower. The Elbe cycle path runs right outside the door, ridable year-round. On rainy days, the Karl May Museum in Villa Shatterhand is worth a visit; in summer, take the Lößnitzgrundbahn through the Lößnitzgrund valley to Moritzburg Castle.
Both apartments face the garden and vineyards, are fully equipped and classified by the German Tourism Association.
Locked courtyard for parking, tram and train a short walk away.
Hiking trails through vineyards and woods right at the door, tips included.
Schloss Wackerbarth and Altkötzschenbroda with shops and restaurants nearby.

Countless sights, romantic landscapes and breathtaking views, we're happy to help you plan.
