Whisky Festival in Radebeul
Two days of whisky fair in the middle of Altkötzschenbroda: at the Hotel „Goldener Anker“ dealers, importers and distillery representatives exhibit at a good number of stands, and people taste, compare and talk shop. The festival has stayed small — the mood is famously familiar, and you genuinely get into conversation with the people behind the tables.
Alongside the fair there are seminars and talks in which single regions, distilleries or cask types are tasted through. A speciality are the whisky tastings aboard a paddle steamer of the Weiße Flotte — tasting on the Elbe, with Radebeul and the vineyards in the window.
Every festival releases its own fair bottlings, available only there. The 15th festival ran in March 2026; the 16th takes place on 3 and 4 April 2027.
Good to know
- Seminars and steamer trips have limited places and are usually booked out before the festival.
- If you taste, do not drive. The S-Bahn stops at Kötzschenbroda, and the village green is a short walk from there.
- The festival falls in early April — low season in Radebeul, so quiet and cheaper days in the apartment.
- Altkötzschenbroda is worth a stroll in itself: wine taverns, small shops and the green sit right next to the venue.
