Rent a holiday home in Radebeul

Radebeul lies between Dresden and Meißen on the Elbe, with the Lößnitz vineyards behind it. Renting a holiday home here means staying outside Dresden's city centre while still being at the Frauenkirche in about twenty minutes. The S1 suburban train takes 15 to 22 minutes from Radebeul Ost to Dresden's main station, and 8 to 15 minutes to Dresden-Neustadt. Tram line 4 also runs into the old town during the day, roughly 20 minutes from Radebeul Ost. Meanwhile, the car can simply stay parked at the house.

A holiday home here brings the advantage a hotel room can't: your own kitchen, terrace or garden, separate bedrooms. For families with children, or groups who want to cook together, that's usually the cheaper option compared with two or three double rooms in the city.

The town itself makes for a worthwhile stay even without Dresden. Altkötzschenbroda is a restored village green with wine taverns and small shops in old courtyards. Schloss Wackerbarth presses its own wine right on the vineyard slope and offers tours of its cellars and sparkling-wine production. The Villa Shatterhand, once home to author Karl May, now houses the Karl May Museum. From the Spitzhaus above the vineyard steps, the view runs down the Elbe valley all the way to Dresden.

Stay a little longer and you can also reach Saxon Switzerland in a day. Königstein and the Bastei are both about an hour's drive away, in the opposite direction from Meißen. Schloss Pillnitz on the other side of the Elbe is a thirty-minute drive, or nearly twice that by bus and train. For everyday shopping, Coswig and Weinböhla are just a few minutes away by car and free of tourist crowds.

September gets tight. The Autumn and Wine Festival in Altkötzschenbroda runs 18–20 September 2026, together with the International Street Theatre Festival, and holiday homes are booked out well in advance. May and June are quieter and cheaper, when the vineyards are budding and the Elbe cycle path still has room to breathe before high season.

Long-term stays and project assignments

For stays of several weeks or more, we offer separate terms based on the actual length of stay rather than short-term apartment rates. This works well for project teams with longer assignments in Dresden — for instance in the semiconductor industry — as well as anyone bridging a renovation or a move. The kitchen is fully equipped, a washer and dryer are available in the basement for a fee, WiFi is free, and the space in the locked courtyard stays reserved even over several weeks.
